Samantha CadwalladerSamantha Cadwallader

Senior Physiotherapist

I graduated from Coventry University in 2005 and commenced employment at University Hospital Birmingham. This included rotations at Selly Oak Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Within these settings I gained experience in Musculoskeletal Outpatients (adult, children and learning disabilities), Hydrotherapy, Neurosurgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Neurology and Respiratory Medicine.

My Focus has always been towards neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy after completing a Sports Science Degree in 2000 and Sports Therapy Diploma. With these I developed a keen interest in biomechanics and massage. I have also been involved with pitch side physiotherapy for a local rugby team.

Since qualifying I have participated in courses on sports first aid, shoulder assessment and treatment, core ball, thoracic outlet syndrome, tendinopathy's, cervical and lumbar spine including the McKenzie concept and sacroiliac dysfunction.

Outside of work I enjoy horse riding, mountain bike trial riding, running, skiing and for a rest - reading. I had a successful 2009 competing on Shirley's horse 'Hattie' at eventing and showjumping and qualified for the British Riding Club Championships finishing 2nd. I represent a county riding club team for showjumping and horse trials and also complete in British Eventing. I enjoy working as part of the team at Friarswood Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic.
